Supporting Our Community in School Settings

Over the past couple of weeks, things have been quiet.  College kids have come home from school, younger kids have been home as well.  Over the break,  I was touched to receive  this endorsement, written by the principal at the local middle school where I facilitated a series of parenting educational/support groups last semester:
“Margaret brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as an MFT, presenter, and a parent. She has a realistic, non-judgmental, and warm approach that makes people feel comfortable and inspired to try solutions. She is the kind of person I want supporting the parents at my school.”

It is my pleasure to support our schools.  Over the years I have had the privilege of  helping out at Terra Linda High School and Davidson Middle School.  I’ve volunteered as a temporary crisis counselor, temporary individual counselor, and have led groups for girls struggling with body issues and kids who have a deceased parent.  Although I’ve provided 90 minute psycho-educational seminars for parents at various schools over the years,  my recent group was my first venture into supporting  parents in a more on-going format and I loved it.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you in your personal life or in a school setting.
